Fluttering beauty

Butterflys are far from being easy to photograph. They tend to flutter around randomly and are never stable enough for a picture. When they do decide to perch somewhere they like closing their wings hiding their beauty from spying lenses.

It’s very frustrating when you get stuck in a car, taxi or bus and there’s wonderful scenery outside just waiting for a picture. Photography through glass just never works out the same, especially moving glass.

I tend to find that when your in a plane looking down at the world, it some how doesn’t feel real. It appears virtual and out of your reach, but also it is as though you could just put your hand out and move it around like a toy.

I’ve visited the mediterranean sea a total of 4 times this spring, a cycling trip in March and 3 walks this April. Cycling is a lot easier of course but it’s hard to observe your surroundings as your rushing past everything. For a photographer, it’s definitely not easy as you have to position your bike in the right direction and get your camera out. I always ruin the last day of holidays and trips, I spend the morning panicking and fretting over forgetting something. When I reach the airport or station I then spend my time panicking over whether or not I have my passport, phone, camera, hand luggage and the list just goes on. Squirrel Diaries 2

Lately, this little squirrel has been popping around to visit my grandmas garden. He returned again on Tuesday for a healthy brunch of rosehips. This time he appeared in the cottage garden, creeping along the fence, then down the trellis, diving for the rosehips and then scuttling up a fence post.
