Too many pictures

Too many pictures

One of the problems I find with photography is that I take an awful lot of pictures. When taking these flower close-ups 2 weeks ago I took a total of 138 photos. I have only used 13-14 of the photos I took that afternoon. It’s unlikely for me to go back and use any of the leftover pictures and I never tend to have the will power to just delete the rest or at least the blurry trashy ones. The…

Purple flowers and favourite colours

Purple flowers and favourite colours

I tend to think and say that my favorite colours are purple and green. In reality, I think I like all colours just different colours for different things, for example, I wouldn’t want a green phone case but green walls or notebooks are nice, depending on the shade of course. Is December really winter

Is December really winter

I wonder what it would be like to move to the southern hemisphere, where December would then be the start of winter and June the start of summer. It must be very weird for people who relocate from one hemisphere to another. For people out there who hate one of the seasons winter /summer, they should live six months in each and then they would always be living in bliss. More winter garden photography

blossoming-flowers-in-winter-2019

Where I live in the northern hemisphere It’s rare to find blossoming flowers in winter. This plant in my garden has decided to continue flowering until now even though it is already mid-December. This plant lacked water at one point and shrivelled up but now it started flowering again. I’m not sure if it’s going to burn itself out this winter and then stop flowering altogether. As it was a new addition to the garden this spring we don’t know…

Panicking on the last day

Panicking on the last day

I always ruin the last day of holidays and trips, I spend the morning panicking and fretting over forgetting something. When I reach the airport or station I then spend my time panicking over whether or not I have my passport, phone, camera, hand luggage and the list just goes on. By the time I get home I’m completely worn out, I’m not sure if I’ll ever know whether all of this is necessary as I’d probably be far too…

Squirrel Diaries 2

Squirrel Diaries 2

Lately, this little squirrel has been popping around to visit my grandmas garden. He returned again on Tuesday for a healthy brunch of rosehips. This time he appeared in the cottage garden, creeping along the fence, then down the trellis, diving for the rosehips and then scuttling up a fence post. After finding a comfy seat he began enjoying his snack. He seems to like perching on vantage points where he can observe what’s going on around him. Squirrels have…

Squirrel Diaries

Lately, my grandma has been leaving nuts outside her back door and this certain squirrel keeps returning for his the treats. I spotted him on Monday munching away on the patio. When he started to move further down the garden I came outside and slowly started creeping up towards him. He was perched on a low branch and I managed to get surprisingly close.  As I was moving closer and closer I could see him watching me through his beady…

Wedding Fireworks

Wedding Fireworks

In early January one of my grandma’s neighbours held a wedding. Well, we think it was a wedding as fireworks tend to indicate weddings around here. The neighbour in question’s garden is located behind hers and their house is on a different street so it’s impossible for us to know what was really going on.
